These are very similar to their Emmett pant. Similar amount of stretch, in my opinion. At first they seemed a bit tight to get on (I have more of a hourglass build) but once I got them past my hips they fit perfect!! The contrast between two shades of denim is slightly more subtle than in the pictures but it’s still pronounced in a beautiful way.

I ordered these in 30 - my typical jean size and 31 and the 31 fit perfectly. I don't mind what the tag says as long as they are comfortable and look good! And they do. These are very different jeans in that they are shorter than average and with the wider cut leg offer a unique style jean. I love the lighter yoke? on the front, and mine isn't as contrasty either, but I think over time it will fade. They are a little thick and stiff, but I know that over time and washing, they will become softer and more flexible. The high waist is perfect for shorter sweaters or blouses tucked in so that the front can be seen. These look great with sneakers, sandals or booties. Love them!

Love the fit of these jeans, though they definitely run small. Go up a size. Always wear a 27 in madewell, need a 28 & hoping the pop back in stock. The contrast of denim is barely visible which was disappointing, but not a deal breaker.

Look and Size
To me, the contrast of the washes wasn’t as distinct as it showed in the picture and I buy ALOT of jeans from Madewell (love them all) but these were way, way smaller in the waist. I will be returning and looking for a different pair.
